Scottish average house price growth in the first quarter of 2018 showed an average increase compared to the first quarter of 2017 of 7.6%. In West Lothian the figure was 13.7%. Paradoxically the volume of property sold in Scotland in the first quarter of 2018 fell by 5.2%, compared to the first quarter of 2017. In West Lothian the number of properties sold fell by 12%. In the latest three month forecast from The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, 20% more Scottish surveyors forecasted that prices would continue to rise, than those who did not.
